For those of you who have been wondering where I have been….this post should clear things up. On July 14th I was lucky enough to be able to photography my very first wedding! What an amazing experience!! I learned so much and got to spend the day with great friends and meet their amazing families. I wish Mike and Amy a lifetime of happiness. Here are a few shots from their special day 🙂 Enjoy!
I loved this photo session. Not only were we at one of my favorite places ever…Deepwood Estate in Salem, OR, but with a great family. It was so much fun being silly and “tricking” everyone into smiling for the camera! I hope you all enjoy!!!
I was blessed with the amazing opportunity to photography this little beauty. For almost being 7 months old this little lady has been through more that most of us will ever go through in life. It is a miracle that she is with us today and I am so thankful that I got to give the gift of photographing her to her parents and family. Although we just met, she already holds a very special place in my heart and I hope that I get many more opportunities like this one. Thank you and enjoy!
On Saturday I had a blast haning out with Thomas and Bryce who gave me a sneak peak into what it will be like in a couple of years with my own boys. They had energy up the ying yang and enough giggles to go around. Thanks to their great mom Katie, they were also extremely well mannered. It was a pleasure taking their family pictures and enjoying this warm summer evening.
“Why do so many people drive cars?” asks 10-year-old Nell as she wheezily roller-blades her way to school. As I try to answer this puzzler, I realize she’s given me a fascinating blog topic about fitness and asthma. I used to think childcare distracted me from blogging, but now I find my kids a rich source of material for posts – especially if I can find a universal theme in what they did or said.
Looking after children is no small task: lots of cleaning and cooking is involved. But this mix of love and drudgery unites millions of us – working and stay-at-home mums (or a combo) world-over. Wits say that when raising children “the minutes drag and the years fly,” so allow yourself to enjoy being offline and distracted by your little distractors. It’s sure to lead to a blog post other parents will value, even if it’s…
My family went on vacation to our cabin in the mountains in Eastern Oregon. Lucky for me Miss Reagan and her parents got to come too! So why not take advantage of one of the most beautiful places in the world and take her 3 month pictures!! My husband calls this God’s country and, for once, I cannot argue with him. I have yet to find a place more peaceful and calming than this. We are truely blessed to be able to have a special place like this.
I got the amazing opportunity to take my first newborn pictures with the most beautiful and easy going little girl last week! My wonderful neighbors Tyler and Aubrey, who I love dearly, gave me this great opportunity. Although she did not sleep the entire time we got great pictures and I loved seeing her awake and just observing everything that was going on. She is definetely the most laid back newborn baby I have ever seen. And yes that includes my own children. I hope everyone enjoys. I know that I am extremely pleased with the finished product 🙂
Here is my not so little guy who turns 6 months old on Monday. I cannot believe how much time has passed since the day we woke up in the middle of the night to have him 🙂 He is so into trying to crawl I could barely keep him sitting up. But we got a couple sitting up pictures which makes me happy. Maybe in a couple days I can finally get the cute naked sitting up bum shot that I wanted so bad. I hope everyone enjoys! Meagan
I was just sitting here and realized that in less than a month it will be time for my first wedding! I am beyond excited about this. Lately I have been working so hard to get things going at Meagan Opel Photography. Networking on Facebook and with friends trying to build my portfolio up as much as I can. If you know anyone that is interested in getting their pictures taken I am having amazing portfolio building discounts right now. Yesterday I found the perfect time with my boys (between dinner, nap, and getting ready for bed) and got these cute pictures. I am constantly amazed at how much they just are completely in love with each other. I will have to keep these pictures for when they get older so I can show them that they did get along at one point in time 🙂 Enjoy-Meagan!
So I actually have more pictures of the new shooting location. Rather than make two posts about the same thing I just nixed the original and decided to make a new post that has all the pictures in it. Let me know if anyone is interested in a photo shoot there!
